Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is a child of a mixed-race family from South London in England. Her father is Nigerian and Swiss and her mom is English. She was born on a south London community estate, and when she was 14, attended The Brit School. At the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she obtained a BA degree in acting. She performed in various stage productions during her time at school, including King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe started her acting career through a short film called Storm Damage. In the years since, she's appeared as a guest on Teachers, Doctors, Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film of debut came from the Woody Allen 2007 film Cassandra's Dream. She starred opposite Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. Her popularity resulted in her being cast as Elisha as a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot, then appear in six episodes Trexx & Flipside as Ollie. She played Bambi in The ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was also the lead character in How to lose friends & alienate people that was aired by Sony Pictures Entertainment in the year 2008. She was also on the screen in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path written composed by David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut was in 2009 with the drama The Beautiful Life. The drama aired for just two episodes before being removed from The CW. The actress was selected in February 2011, as Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. The show premiered in May 2013 and it was announced that Madekwe, who had played a regular role in the two previous seasons, had decided to quit the show after a guest-appearance in the first episode of the new season. The actress played Tituba in the show Salem between 2014 and. Madekwe married her long-time lover, Iddo. They've collaborated in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl and he also played a part with her on the TV series Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into an extended family of. Her parents were Roy and Patty along with her older brothers: Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's family, which is all athletic, played baseball in summers and played hockey in winters. Ashley didn't walk, instead she was a dancer. At age two and a half, she was introduced to Baby Ballet. Ashley became passionate about dance immediately after that. Ashley was a professional dancer throughout the various divisions until she finished high school. She was a competitor in ballet, jazz, tap as well as pointe and Acrobatics. She won the top individualist in all the main dance contests, including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance among others.
